Privacy Policy

This policy explains what the Al Quran app does with your information. It is short because the app does very little with it.

What the app is

Al Quran displays the Qur'an as scanned pages of a printed mushaf. There is no account, no sign-in, no advertising and no purchase of any kind.

What stays on your device

The app saves the following on your phone only. None of it is transmitted anywhere, and we cannot see it:

• The page you were last reading
• The furthest page you have reached
• Pages you have bookmarked
• Whether night mode is switched on

Uninstalling the app deletes all of it. There is no copy held elsewhere to recover.

Crash reports

The app uses Firebase Crashlytics, a service operated by Google, so that we learn when the app crashes. Without it a crash is invisible to us and cannot be fixed.

A report is sent only when the app crashes. Nothing is sent during normal use. Each report contains:

• The technical details of the crash, including the stack trace
• Your device model, operating system version, and the app version
• Device state at the moment of the crash, such as available memory and storage
• A Firebase installation identifier, which is not linked to you and which is reset if you reinstall the app
• The page number you were on, whether night mode was on, and how many bookmarks you had — these help us reproduce the crash

If your device is offline when a crash happens, the report is held on the device and sent the next time the app runs with a connection.

Google processes this data as our service provider. Their handling of it is described in the Firebase Privacy and Security documentation and the Google Privacy Policy.

What the app does not do

• It does not collect your name, email address, phone number or location
• It does not use analytics, and does not record which pages you read or how long you use it
• It does not show advertising and does not share anything with advertisers
• It does not sell data to anyone, for any purpose
• It does not require an account and has no login

Reading offline

Every page of the mushaf is stored inside the app when you install it. Reading works with no connection at all, permanently. The internet permission exists solely so that a crash report can be delivered.

Children

The app is suitable for all ages. It collects nothing that could identify a person, child or adult.

Changes to this policy

If the app ever begins handling information differently, this page will be updated before that version is released, and the date at the top will change.
